How To Use
How to glow,
in eight gentle steps.
Welcome to your at-home IPL routine. A simple, light-powered process you can do at your own pace, in your own bathroom. Watch the tutorial below, or scroll straight into the guide.
How does at-home IPL laser hair removal and skin rejuvenation work?
At-home IPL laser hair removal works by sending gentle pulses of light energy into the skin, where the pigment in the hair absorbs it and converts it to heat. That heat targets the hair follicle, reducing regrowth over a course of treatments for smooth, permanent hair removal at home. The same IPL laser technology powers skin rejuvenation, where the light is absorbed by problem areas and boosts collagen production to refine tone and texture for a smoother, more radiant complexion. Both the Lumilia Lux™ and Lumilia GlacierX™ bring this salon-style technology into your own bathroom.
Two minutes, then you've got this.
The quickest way to feel confident with your Lumilia Lux™ is to watch it in action.
Your step by step guide.
Four simple phases, eight gentle steps. Take it at your own pace.
Prepare your skin.
Shave first.
Shave the area you plan to treat. The light targets hair at the root, so a freshly shaved surface lets it work properly. No need for waxing or plucking — the Lumilia Lux™ needs that root to do its job.
Cleanse and dry.
Skin should be clean, dry and bare. Remove any makeup, lotion or fake tan first. A fresh, bare canvas is what your Lumilia Lux™ needs to do its best work.
Set up your device.
Power on.
Plug in the adapter and hold the power button for three seconds until the menu screen loads.
Pick your mode.
Hair Removal is the default. To switch to Skin Rejuvenation, hold the top button and power button together for three seconds. Your mode shows on screen as HR or SR.
Set your intensity.
Hair Removal offers eight intensity levels. Begin at level 1 or 2 for your first session and build up as your skin grows comfortable. Skin Rejuvenation uses level 1 only.
Treat your skin.
Flash the area.
Place the Lumilia Lux™ flat against your skin and press the flash button. Slip on the included safety glasses before you begin.
Glide with Auto Mode.
For larger areas like legs, switch to Automatic Mode. The Lumilia Lux™ flashes on contact so you can glide it along for smooth, continuous coverage.
Finish up.
Finish and soothe.
Flash each spot once or twice per session. Two to three sessions a week gives the best rhythm. Hold the power button to switch off. Apply a fragrance-free moisturiser or aloe vera gel to calm the skin. A little warmth or mild redness for 30–60 minutes is completely normal — a sign the treatment has worked. Avoid direct sun on treated areas for at least 24 hours and skip hot showers, saunas or intense heat immediately after your session.
Two modes, two routines.
The Lumilia Lux™ is a 2in1 tool. Master both and you have a complete at-home treatment ritual.

For smoother skin.
Use the Lumilia Lux™ two to three times a week for the first four to eight weeks. After that, an occasional session keeps things smooth.
- Two gentle passes per area per session.
- Gentle enough for the upper lip and chin.
- The full bikini area is suitable too.
- A warm prickling sensation is normal. It should not hurt.

For glowing skin.
Use this mode two to three times a week. Popular for the face, where it tends to help tone and texture look smoother over time.
- Popular for the cheeks and forehead.
- Always level 1 — gentle and steady.
- Best results come with consistency.
Will the Lumilia Lux™ work for you?
Tap the swatch closest to your tone. We will be honest about the two exceptions.
Medium
The most common tone globally. Sometimes burns, gradually tans to a light brown. Often paired with darker eyes and chestnut or dark brown hair.
Start at level 1 or 2 for your first session, then build up to level 6 over time.
The darker the hair, the better.
IPL targets melanin in the hair root. The more melanin, the stronger the result.

Two minutes on your GlacierX™.
All three heads, all three modes, FrostX™ cooling, and Smart AI Skin Tone Sensor — in action.
Your step by step guide.
Four phases, eight precise steps. Your Lumilia GlacierX™ is built for exactly this.
Prepare your skin.
Shave first.
Shave the area you plan to treat. IPL targets hair at the root, so a clean shave is essential. Do not wax or pluck beforehand — the Lumilia GlacierX™ needs the follicle to be present to work effectively.
Cleanse and dry.
Remove any makeup, lotion, fake tan or skincare products before your session. Clean, dry skin allows FrostX™ Sapphire Ice Cooling to make full contact and the IPL to reach the follicle without interference.
Set up your device.
Attach your head.
Choose your treatment head — TrueHR™ for hair removal, TrueSR™ for skin rejuvenation, or ClearAC™ for acne care. Power off, press the release, slide out the current head, and click the new one in firmly. The device recognises the head automatically on power-up.
Power on.
Connect the power adapter. Hold the power button for 3–6 seconds until the display activates. The screen shows your current head mode, intensity level, and operating mode.
Choose your mode and intensity.
Switch operating modes by pressing the ON/OFF (top) and Flash (side) buttons together. Options: Manual (you set the level), ProPulse™ Glide Mode (you set the level, auto-fires on glide), or Smart AI (the Smart AI Skin Tone Sensor sets intensity for you automatically). In Manual, start at level 1 and build up. Patch test 30–45 minutes before a full session.
Treat your skin.
Flash the area.
Place the Lumilia GlacierX™ flat against your skin and press the Flash button (side button). FrostX™ Sapphire Ice Cooling is active from the first contact. Wear the included safety glasses whenever you treat — face included.
Glide with ProPulse™.
For large areas like legs, arms, or the full back, switch to ProPulse™ Glide Mode. The Lumilia GlacierX™ fires automatically as you glide, giving smooth, continuous coverage without stopping to press flash each time.
Finish up.
Power down and soothe.
Flash each area once or twice per session. Two to three sessions a week gives the best rhythm. Hold the power button to switch off safely. After around 15 minutes, apply a fragrance-free moisturiser or aloe vera gel to soothe the treated skin. Mild warmth or light redness for 30–60 minutes is completely normal — a sign the treatment has worked. Avoid direct sun on treated areas for at least 24 hours and skip hot showers, saunas or intense heat straight after your session.
FrostX™ Sapphire Ice Cooling.
The GlacierX™ flash window is lined with a sapphire crystal that continuously cools the treatment area as you work. This makes each flash noticeably more comfortable — especially on sensitive areas — and lets you focus on the routine, not the sensation.
Will the Lumilia GlacierX™ work for you?
Tap your tone. The Smart AI Skin Tone Sensor manages intensity automatically for compatible tones. Two exceptions we will always be honest about.
Medium
The most common tone globally. Compatible with the Lumilia GlacierX™ across all three treatment heads.
The darker the hair, the better.
IPL targets melanin in the hair root. The same physics apply across all three GlacierX™ heads.
